Osteopathy is an integrative medicine and healthcare practice that emphasises the physical manipulation of the body’s bones and muscle tissue.
An osteopath is a healthcare and rehabilitation specialist who uses natural and noninvasive manual therapy techniques to improve the body's healing and facilitate the restoration of normal functioning. An osteopath assesses all systems of the body, including bones, joints, muscles, nerves, and much more, to discern the way in which these may be impacting the overall health of a person. Then, we uses this information to help restore the body's innate natural healing abilities.
In New Zealand, osteopaths are highly trained healthcare practitioners, holding both a Bachelor of Health Sciences and a Master of Osteopathy degrees. All New Zealand osteopaths are registered with the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand, which is overseen by the New Zealand Ministry of Health.

Then you've come to the right place. All Healing Touch osteopaths are registered Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) providers, which means that ACC may contribute to the cost of your treatments.
We can:
- Register your injury claim directly with ACC
- Create a tailored treatment plan for you
- Offer exercise prescriptions
- Provide imaging referrals
- Provide specialist referrals
- Liaise with your GP
If you have an existing ACC injury claim, simply bring your claim form or claim number with you to your first osteopathy appointment. No referral letter is required.
